1. Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2. fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:1-2 (NIV)
Prayer
I pray that I truly ‘get You’, for Who You Are, and the gracious love you have for me, so that I long for You above any lust, and learn to subject every thought in obedience to Christ. In the meantime, I pray that the enemy will not sift me, or seize my aspirations. I ask for a sincere and open spirit that knows and seeks You in all things, and at all times for personal fulfilment.
Give me grace to become emotionally intelligent, so I can manage my victories with humility, challenges with hope, and disappointments with the knowledge you make all things work together for Your purpose, and my good.
I also ask for divine wisdom and discernment (not cunning) so I am wise beyond human recognition, and feel fulfilled in all I do according to your will.
In Jesus Name.
